KillBOT!

BUZZ-SAW-FOR-A-HAND FLOATING KILLBOT?!!! RUN!!!!

Today I felt like making something with the containers I’ve been saving from all the box-lunches I eat. The material is the perfect thickness for crafts (see nap light). I’ve wanted to make some robots pretty badly; here’s the first. Click the picture for more photos, or go here.

Squid Stamp: Analog Filter

Posted by Tim Foley on December 1st, 2008

I carved out a stamp from that squid design I posted earlier. I really like the stylized stamp look I’ve got. I’ve found it’s a good way to make a digital image a little more interesting. I used a similar technique on my Death Cat shirt. I might clean up some of the stray lines, but I’m happy with the result. The original design was just too sterile. I might use this one in a future shirt.

Squid Costume!

Well, here it is. I’m either getting attacked by this squid, or am some kind of part-squid part-man creature; it’s up for interpretation. This is my craftiest project yet. I hand-sewed everything except for 4 of the tentacles (my Aunt helped me out with those). I used snaps to attach the tentacles to my shirt, and mesh from my laundry basket for the eyes. It’s really too bad that Halloween is only one day!

I think I’ll add some spots for next year.

Squid Shirt Design

Giant Squid

Well, I’m so happy about my squid design that I’m going to make it into a shirt. I’ve fiddled around in my vector program (inkscape) and I’ve got a black and white image to use. It’s a bit darker than the original (I’m not talking about brightness), let me know what you think.

iPod Etching Part 2 of 2

Here’s the result. It’s not as deep as I had hoped, my blue tape mask fell off as I was checking the progress and I really didn’t feel like putting it all back on. I’ll definitely try this again.

El Chupacabra Shirt

El Chupacabra

El Chupacabra Shirt

Before starting on the screenprinting process, I decided to make a quick freezer paper stencil of my chupacabra design, and today I finished it up. This is also my first 2 color stencil. It’s a bit blurry around the edges, but I’ll definitely do better next time. One problem with this stencil is that I made it soo small.

Here‘s the original design.
